Nancy reflects on the past couple years in her garden
Today we ’re visiting Nancy Sarpola ’s garden .
I have air several batches of photos in for the GPOD in the yesteryear , but ithas been a few class since then . I think I would send some from the last couple of yr , as I am looking through them now that winter is move in . I garden on a sloped tail - acre in Corvallis , Oregon . We have a small lawn and a good - sizing paver terrace . There are bands of shrubs and perennial in between the lawn and terrace , several trees to keep us cool in the summertime , and a small garden for vegetables and make out flowers to one side .

A dwarf hydrangea(Hydrangea macrophylla , Zones 6–9 ) at the top of a way with blue tritelia(Tritelia laxa , Zones 5–9 ) growingthrough prosperous crawl Jenny(Lysimachia nummularia‘Aurea ’ , Zones 4–8 ) . Tritelia is aboriginal to the West Coast andis a supereasy medulla oblongata for us to originate here in western Oregon .

Looking north on the way of life at the top of our lot toward a trellis withRosa‘Eden ’ on it and a limelight hydrangea(Hydrangea paniculata‘Limelight ’ Zones 4–8 ) andGalega‘Lady Wilson’(Galega × hartlandii‘Lady Wilson ’ , Zones 4–8 ) in bloom on the right wing . This exposure was taken in late July .

A little seat area in September made out of some remnant pavers . It boast asters and ‘ Fireworks ’ goldenrod(Solidago rugosa‘Fireworks ’ zone 5–9)at this metre of year .

Japanese forest grass(Hakonechloa macra , Zones 5–9 ) back by ‘ vision ’ astilbe(Astilbe chinensis‘Visions ’ , Zones 4–8 ) .

YellowDicentra scandens(Zones 7–10 ) vine meld with ‘ Polish Spirit ’ clematis ( Zones 5–9 ) andLysimachia ephemerum(milky loosestrife , zone 6–9 ) . This lysimachia is not an aggressive broadcaster like so many of its kin .
These are chairs I bewilder at a rummage cut-rate sale for $ 10 each ! I repaint them in my favorite color and put them in this small nook with a Japanese maple(Acer palmatum , Zones 5–10),Acanthus mollis(Bear ’s knickers , Zones 7–11 ) and Japanese forest grass .
