I ’m here again in the Ozarks – one of my favorite places for herborizing . Most of us travel with field pathfinder in the fomite we are traveling in and pull over on the side of dirt roads whenever we see a plant that catch our attention or needs identifying . When walk or hiking , I mostly carry a backpack with a few books , a body of water bottleful , and a walking marijuana cigarette is ready to hand for steep ground level and for crossing creek and rivers with tricky rock . Although in hot weather , I ’d prefer to dress in less , one can not walk here in flipflops and boxershorts . Besides barbed and prickly vine and trees , there are check mark and chiggers , so it is prudent to apply insect skanky oil and wear recollective sleeve , long pants tuck into boots , and a chapeau on your head .

I am attracted to plants with heart - mold leaves . I bet you ca n’t conceive of how many of them are out there with this leaf contour . Just a quick glimpse on the wayside one can see greenbrier , air potato vine ( close relative to the similar - looking cinnamon vine ) , redbud leaves , sunup glory vines and violet to name a few . How can you say the difference between these plant ?
