The varietal name " mandraliscae(pronounced MAN - druh - lee - skee ) " honorsEnrico Pirajno(1809 - 1864 ) , Baron of Mandralisca .

The rootage of this miscellanea is quite a secret . It was first described in 1855 by Vincenzo Tineo free-base on specimen collected by his adherent Baron Enrico Pirajno ( 1809 - 1864 ) of Mandralisca on the Vulcano island , a small island located at the southernmost close of the seven Aeolian Islands . Twenty - two eld later , in 1877 , Michele Lojacono Pojero ( 1853 - 1919 ) did not find any wild specimens on the island but watch over some plants growing in pots on the unaired island of Lipari and referred them to a flora of probably intercrossed origin .
