If you live in the Northeast , Mountain West , or Midwest , your idea of wintertime sake is certainly different from , say , a gardener ’s living in the South . Those of us who live in cooler locale are often satisfied with call in any works that sticks its head above a snow bank “ a winter peach . ” But in today ’s episode we ’re holding the measure a bit gamey and talking about plants that really do hold open their best for the months of December , January , and February . We hash out shrubs that flower in wintertime , perennials that are evergreen , and even a few trees that every garden ( regardless of geographical position ) would gain from . Our special node is from Montana , so if she can find plant for wintertime interest , you do it that anyone can .

Special guest : Kielian DeWitt lives and gardens on a horse ranch in the Bitterroot Valley in Montana .
