How to Be “Not Busy”

Say it with me. “I’m NOT Busy”.

Not busy ? Ha ! It ’s difficult , correct ? Because I know you ARE busy . Everyone is . But , it seems to me lately that everyone wants a piece of my time . And , I abominate the idiom , “ I ’m too engaged ” . Especially when I ’m run with someone and their work is thrust on to me . The other day , I volunteer to help make calls to promote for a local event come up before long . The lady with the call listing email me the inclination of all preceding participant from last year and the twelvemonth before . That ’s well over 150 epithet . I called her and ask her if she would be take a leak any calls . She said , “ No , I ’m just right smart too busy ” . suspension … .I take a recondite breathing time , take care at my calendar and cringed . I was meddling , too . How was I going to get all of these calls made , plus finish all of my employment already on my to - do list ? I paused again and took a deep hint . My feeling then , was anger . There are six gentlewoman on this commission . Why did I have to do this entire tedious and time consuming task all by myself and waste my entire day ? I took one more inscrutable breather and wished SHE would have been thinking of my agenda . I wish SHE would have necessitate ME if I had prison term to call the whole integral two lists of people . I wish SHE would have put herself in my shoes . In my head , I thought ofthree possible waysthat everyone on my committee would have been “ not busy ” enough to make phone call or contacts .

1. Remember that EVERYONE is busy.

Appreciate everyone ’s agenda . Ask them if there would be something they could do to help you . If they are part of the committee or chemical group , there must be a reason they have opt to consecrate prison term to join . It take the whole twenty-four hours to call 100 people . When I would actually unite with someone , they would want to blab for a while , which was gravid ! I enjoy babble out to people on the phone , particularly when it ’s about a topic I ’m passionate about . The list was just very retentive . In your group , choose the most tedious task and rive them up into different part . Let everyone pick who they want to call or let them choose what part of the project they would care to dispatch . When you outsource tasks , any project can become a full quality project . I did finish the phone vociferation . Luckily , I have a bubbly Quaker who is also passionate about our platform and she called some of the hoi polloi on my list . I wrote a script so I could just read what I wanted to say . This helped me to multitask while making calls .

3. Prioritize Tasks to Fit Your Whole Team’s Busy Schedule

My committee began plan this particular case in February , so we would have had plenty of clip to design out ho-hum project such as calling and advertising . I also have abig pad of lined notebook computer pageswhere I map out the twenty-four hour period with a list of tasks . I have been judge to make a tilt for the week on Sunday night , but IF this list does not get accomplished , I complete a list for the day first thing in the morning . This really helps me get laid what want to be completed and what really does n’t .

2. Communicate

If we as human beings did not pass on , we would all just be walk zombies . Alone and dead . In the darkness . Relationships and communication keep us animated and motivated ! And on target area ! In my own marriage , both of us are busy people with busy schedules .
