good insects use jolting vegetation to either overwinter themselves or put egg to be incubate next spring . Those egg will hatch before aphid and other pestis seem . The grownup from this first round of eggs will lay their nut in time to control the aphids then afterwards on thrips , spider jot etc .

By cutting back all that jolting flora now you are fundamentally toss nature ’s army of good insects into the trash and that ’s a waste of their talent . This is all part of creating a “ emcee environment ” and I cover that more in depth in my rule book ‘ Everyday Roses ’ put out by Taunton Press .

assay to fend the impulse to cut back your garden in the crepuscule . I experience it ’s prissy to have it expect goodish during the winter but just think forward to next spring when possibly cutting it back now could result in an aphid plague later . In my opinion that would be much worse !
