Today ’s exposure are from Peg McCann . Peg sent in so many great exposure that we ’ll have another set tomorrow . Some of her descriptions apply to tomorrow ’s shot … but here ’s the first exercise set . Peg says,“I’ve gardened in St. Joseph , Michigan , in Zone 6 , for 25 + years , and the garden keeps changing . I ’ve a weak situation for unusual plants , which do not show well in photos of the garden , but perhaps there ’s enough decent garden photos here to interest you . Our G is at the top of a wooded bluff , so the the gardens are the foreground of our scene to the Second Earl of Guilford . The gay place has efflorescence to attract butterfly and hummingbirds , while I ’ve planted the shadowed area with wildflowers and/or plant with interesting foliage . A garden pond has been great fun , with a XII frogs , birds bathing , and a small trickling stream surrounded by mosses and dimunitive ferns . Hypertufa container with miniature plants and alpines are sited for up - close viewing . On the west , in a raised area , is a genus Parrotia Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree cut up to showcase its adorable curved limbs , with daffodils comply by Hosta beneath it . A brick path on the due east is home to interesting fern best seen up close , as well as a darmera flora starting to impress in its 3rd yr . Its blossom show in the other spring shot . In the sunny garden near the route I ’ve put bold flowers as well as some strange plants to interest the neighborhood walkers . The winter heaths bloom as betimes as the crocus and are welcomed by early bee . I do n’t see them used much around here but golly , a goodly evergreen plant that flowers in March and April ! What ’s not to like?“I have it off your garden , Peg ! So natural and enthralling , and GREEN ! I ca n’t wait for everyone to see tomorrow ’s hardening of photograph .
