SixOnSaturday
Still no hose ban here , so at no small cost bill - wise I have continued to dunk the borders munificently with the required . It is exercise in that the delimitation actually look pretty lush , and there ’s even a comely amount of colour in the gay borders . I must be doing something correct . More on that in the next Border Patrol . For now , it ’s time for another Six on Saturday , in which gardeners from the four corners of this celestial sphere wax lyrical about Six items in their garden . A bloom , a blighter , a favoured tool , a harvest , a failure , anything at all . Join in !
Here are my Six for this week .

1 – Coleus . turn from source this year . This plant is often used as a house - plant life but I ’m growing as an annual in terrace container . The leaf is the main attraction , coming as it does in technicolour variation .
2 – Blackfly . The hot and wry weather conditions must suit our aphid brother , I am seeing much more blackfly this class than in previous year . The broad beans were bad affected , and now I see them on dahlia stems and clematis too . I ’m using soapy water applied via a spray feeding bottle . It seems to come down the volume importantly , although does n’t annihilate them .
3 – Tithonia ‘ Red Torch ’ . A first for me this year , these annuals grow to 5 or 6 feet mellow , although I have heard some reach 8′ depending on the conditions . Until latterly there was a mass of greenery but no flower action at law . Just in the last few days they have put out bud and ultimately flowers . A vivid orange tree - red , they certainly glow in the borders . They will compete with the nearby genus Helenium for impingement .

4 – Wisteria . A second charge . A first for the wisteria in my garden , it normally retires gracefully after the first lot of flowers is done . I ’m not certain if this is due to the hot and cheery conditions , or if it simply a broker of old age – perhaps it is now launch enough to always go again . There are not as many flush this metre , perhaps 10 % , but receive enough .
5 – Rose ‘ Rosy Madder ’ . Another second outpouring . This is the rose that open my center , or rather nostrils , to the benefits of a rosebush with a good strong perfume . I ’m look forward to seeing and smelling this one again soon .
6 – Rain . Not much rain , and of no real benefit to anything , but rain even so . It ’s been about 2 month since it last rained , pretty unusual for a British summertime . Yesterday it rain lightly then dry out up almost immediately . But at least we have had a reminder of how it work , perhaps there will be more soon .

Have a fab weekend , may it rain at convenient times , and do n’t forget to check back in as more links get add .
I ’ll be back next week for another # SixOnSaturday .
