SixOnSaturday
The unseasonably strong weather continue , some overnight lows beat fair mean solar day time temperature for the time of year . The tail end of a storm is due to hit on Sunday here , make for heavy rain for the day . I ’ll be pleased to see some rain , but would favour it happened overnight – I ’ve bugger off stuff to do ! Anyway , meter for Six on Saturday . Six thing , in the garden , on a Saturday . You choose , could be anything – a blossom , foliage , a tool , a project , a succeeder , a bankruptcy , a locoweed , a pest , anything at all . Join in !
Here are my Six for this calendar week …

1 – Garlic . I grow garlic for the first sentence this year and recently buy some more source cloves to implant up for next class ’s harvest . I am enjoying having a supply of bulbs in storage . Last yr I order too many lightbulb for sowing and ended up growing some in bags . Most uncharacteristically , this year I have ordered too few . I sowed ( or planted ? ) those the other Clarence Day . I was live on to buy some more when I was remind that I could just found some of my salt away ail . These three ripe - size of it bulbs have been pressed into service as ejaculate neckcloth for next years bulbs . I should get 6 or 7 cloves from each one , so these three should become around 20 bulb next twelvemonth . If you have n’t grown garlic before , it ’s well deserving a try – just plonk them in the ground around October , then entrust till final stage of June , July time .
2 – Thalictrum x ‘ Black stockings ’ . I develop these meadow rue from ejaculate this class , just a few . The plants have not done much this year , just settling in . The leafage is profuse though . I sometimes suppose it is aquilege , then remember . Next year they should put on more growth and I should have slender near - bootleg stem of up to 2 chiliad , crown by sprays of lavender purple flowers . For now , I wait , gardening is a long plot .
3 – Dahlia ‘ Otto ’s Thrill ’ . This is Otto ’s 2nd toot of the Six on Saturday trumpet . I am left with a limited array of dahlias this year after the duple curse of winter storage failures and hard grow conditions . So I ’ll celebrate the few I have .

4 – Rudbeckia , reddun . A subsister of two winters , this plant has been move a duet of times . It pout a small , but is now flowering quite gamely . It is lower than it should be , but hopefully it will ensconce in and start conduct itself next year . If it endure .
5 – Viola ‘ Heartthrob ’ . A late pity work bench leverage . I note it has been lightly nibbled by something . It does flower , manifestly , but I bought it for the leafage . It is a secure ground natural covering industrial plant , apparently , but I retrieve I will put in one of the planters , let it take care of the crushed storey of the nonmigratory climber .
6 – Aster ‘ Little Carlow ’ . I boast this a few weeks ago , just two flowers in the picture . That was nice enough , but does n’t nearly do this clump justice . Here it is again then , in all it ’s floriferous glory . I think I will separate this group next natural spring .

Have a capital gardening weekend , I have plenty to do after being away most of last weekend . Do n’t forget to look into back in during the Clarence Shepard Day Jr. as more links get added .
I ’ll be back next workweek with another # SixOnSaturday .
