The sign interpret : “ Please do n’t take home these Black Gold bricks yet ! This brick is for your garden or window box : sum up it to 2/3 of any soil you have … think of it as a starter outfit for your self - sustain future . ”

There was also an impressive lineup of speakers including Michael Pollan , Marion Nestle , Alice Waters and other outstanding author in the field of sustainable agriculture .

Overall , the first - ever SFN was a nifty event , but next year , we ’d wish to see it held in a less - congest area that is more easily navigate , and ideally , all in one position ( not spread out over a bustling urban center ) . But that ’s just one country girl ’s opinion .
