Packing a punch in a small space
Today we ’re strike a look back at Angie ’s garden in Johnstown , Pennsylvania .
Angie ’s yard is small , so she use a lot of corporation to add supernumerary people of colour and diversity to the garden , and they allow her to change thing up seasonally . Here , in high summer , heliotrope ( Heliotropiumarborescens , Zones 10–11 or as anannual ) , marigolds ( Tagetes , annual ) , and wax begonias ( Begoniasemperflorens , Zones 8–10 or as an annual ) fill a container with color .
In the garden beds , coneflowers ( Echinaceahybrid , Zones 5–9 ) show off with tons of strong , salmon - discolor blooms .
For crepuscule , mums ( Chrysanthemum , hardiness varies by cultivar ) in containers give a Graeco-Roman autumnal display .
More mom really put the fall display over the top , joined by a few pots of summer annuals that are still decease strong .
Tall , orangecoleus(Coleushybrid , zone 9–11 or as an one-year ) make a background in this bed , with short blooms , admit dwarfdahlias(Dahliavariabilis , Zones 8–10 or as tender incandescent lamp ) and cloud of white sweet alyssum ( Lobulariamaritima , annual ) in the front .
